This Sonoma Estate Is a Cinematic Masterpiece from Beginning to End

After the 2017 wildfires ravaged their Sonoma estate, vintners Pam and George Hamel enlisted their longtime friend, designer Ken Fulk, to reinvent their beloved home. Fulk's task was to rebuild while preserving the home's essence, resulting in a space that feels both timeless and new. The project involved clearing the ashes and reconstructing the property with bespoke features, including reclaimed barn timber, antique Italian fireplaces, and European antiques, all contributing to a hacienda-style retreat reminiscent of a bygone era. The reimagined estate, now aptly named Smoketree, blends elegant design with personal meaning, becoming a cherished gathering place for the Hamel family once again.
